"Where We Come Together"

Limited Edition Collab Between Good Throw Co x Taylor Lee Ochre Sisters

The Story Behind The Art

Where We Come Together is a meaningful piece centred around the crescent moon
and vibrant sun. It tells the story of two opposites, a light and a dark, and how they
connect to create this beautiful life. The interconnected moon and sun represent how
they equally play a vital role in our world and allow us and mother nature to ultimately
flourish, grow and thrive. On the moon’s side there are the shadows of blooming palm leaves across the horizon, symbolising beauty even in the darkness. Where as on the sun’s side a variety of flowers are illustrated to convey the range of pristine nature in our fragile ecosystem. Displayed on either end of the artwork are smooth rolling hills blanketed by rows of lush flowers. On top of the hills are several people who are connected side by side as a symbol of harmony and bond. Overall ‘Where We Come Together’ is a piece that holds a deep sense of love, connectedness & worth.

About The Artist

Taylor-Lee is a new and upcoming Indigenous artist from the southern Gold Coast.
She’s a proud young Kungadidji 14 year old who loves to surf, skate and paint. Often
her art pieces will reflect this passion with ocean features, blue hues or boho pastels.

In 2023 Taylor-Lee’s artwork she designed for Naidoc Week was one of six highly commended art pieces chosen by the Qld government. Not long after this she then went on to win the Young, Black & Proud Scholarship for her art. Taylor-Lee has since worked hard between her school work and surfing, designing new pieces that she sells on Instagram known as Ochre_Sisters in name of her and her younger indigenous sister.
